i was running 5:30s when i was 12... carbon4me is right. it gets a lot harder to improve the faster you get.... especially if you make it to the 4 minute range

Your mile time is good for your age but be sure to train smart and not be discouraged if you do not attain elite status. I ran a 5:32 mile in 8th grade and 5:12 as a senior in high school. It is much harder to reduce 20 seconds from your mile time as you reach the elite times than someone trying to reduce from 6:30 to 6:10 for example.
