@CalifPrincess You are a fucking idiot if you think this program was good. By the looks of your screen name you are from CA, so you must be a liberal. I can see why you would think this is good. You and the dumbass president must agree on just about everything. Go fuck yourself, you stupid liberal bitch!

The main thing I don't understand about this program is that the government used millions to destroy vehicles when alot of people are driving vehicles worse{some don't even have cars at all} then these and there a bunch of vehicles still made today that are gas hogs and get under 18 MPG
-
@CalifPrincess I somewhat agree, but thats only 10% of Americans, there alot of workers in other fields that were put out of work and the government did nothing about it. Also destroying these vehicle have hurt low income ppl, used car dealerships and charities.
-
@CalifPrincess Well of course it's a shame to let perfectly good cars go to waste, but it was also necessary. I'm pretty sure that actual collectable cars will remain where they have to remain, however a lot of running vehicles that could have made an infortunate family's happiness have ended up trashed.
-
people are upset because they are destroying good, working cars that somebody less fortunate could use. why do they have to destroy their engines and why arent they allowed to use the body panels for someone that needs them? go look up other videos and you will see why people are upset. lexus, jaguar, audi, bmw, mercedes, lincolns are all getting destroyed when they are still worth 10-20 thousand dollars. i can see the suburbans and stuff but they dont have to destroy it. its a huge waste.

Because money is fungible, if you make me pay for your car, and you go on and throw yourself a big, fancy, expensive party, what you really have done is made me pay for your big, fancy, expensive party. C4C is morally wrong! It's nothing more than government-as-hired-thug. It helps me for a mugger to steal from a jogger and give me half to keep me quiet. Obama's the mugger. Taxpayers are the jogger.
-
Yeah, it was a joke...like the car is asking for the engine to be serviced after he just destroyed it...
-
Every car does that when it Stalls
-
Ironic how the "service engine soon" light came on just as it died
-
Yeah, I'm personally not in favor of killing cars that are still in good shape...I'm more into recycling.....so these cars get crushed and then what happens to them? Anyone know?
-
The only problem that I have with this program is there are people driving worse cars that are not safe and should not even be on the road but can't afford to buy a newer used car just to get to and from work. Here we take tax payer dollars to buy a good used car and destroy it just because it don't get good gas mileage. I agree get the clunkers off the road but most of the cars traded in are in most peoples opinion not "clunkers"
-
that van was actaully quite nice, what a waste. G vans dont get the best mileage, but look at the interior. if you had 7 people in the mileage suddenly isnt that bad. besides that, these things normally run for ever. we had quite a few of them years ago. they all died from rust, which this van had NONE. it was clean
This program has actually kept the doors to these dealerships open and American workers still earning a paycheck. So many people are upset about this program and I guess I'm not really sure why. The billions the government gave to Wall Street didn't help me or my neighborhood at all, but Cars 4 Clunkers has. As a Political Science major in College I'm fascinated with people's feelings about things...I'm always searching for new theories. :O)

It seems that some of the "clunkers" are relatively clean and night have had some driving years left on them, but with all the hundreds of new car dealerships closing across the US (especially in California) putting literally thousands of workers out of a job...from the office workers, sales people, janitors, technicians, alarm and store installers, core recyclers etc... 1 out of every 10 workers in America are tied to the auto industry in some way....
