@Songsmirth Tengo el color del río I have the river’s color y su misma voz en mi canto sigo and it same voice in my singing del agua mansa y su suave danza en el corazón. I follow the gently flowing wáter and its dancing within the heart Pero a veces oscura, But sometimes dark va turbulenta en la ciega hondura it flows turbulent in the blind depth y se hace brillo and it becomes shine en este cuchillo de pescador. On this fisherman’s knife

@Songsmirth Soy de la orilla brava, I am from the brave river bank del agua turbia y la correntada with the muddy wáter and the current que baja hermosa por su barrosa profundidad. that flows beautifully through its muddy depth Soy un paisano serio, I am a reliable fellow countryman soy gente del remanso Valerio, i am from Valerio backwater que es donde el cielo that is where the heaven remonta vuelo en el Paraná. Meets the sky in the Parana (river)

Dear Friends
This song was written by Jorge Fandermole, a very famous writer and musician in the Rosario área. It speaks about a fisherman that lives in the “Valerio” backwater (Remanso Valerio) praying to Jesus Christ for a good fishing.
It also speaks about his suffering for the poverty he lives in.
I give you a free translation so that you can get a feel of what the autor is trying tos say.
If you have any doubts, email me.
Take care

The mean of this song is a pray to the river that give the fishes to the people as mild of live. Fandermole( the author) use many metaphora to explain the life of fish man that spend a lot time working on the river. It is a beautiful song and The Carabajal family are the best musicians of Argentina.

They are father and sons? Will someone explain to me the relationships between these men?
Beautiful song. I sure wish I spoke Spanish because the lyrics mean just as much as the music to me. The harmony is so perfect.
Gracias again Fito. :)

They are cousins, but in the Carabajal family all are musicians. The Father of Peteco, Carlos Carabajal, was named "The Father of The Chacarera" becouse his big aport for aur folk music. The Chacarera is a substyle of our folk music that comes from the region called "Santiago del Estero" Bye and thanks for your interest in our music.
