Olive Lembe Kabila: Congo's First Lady

From being a single mom (she has a daughter with Kabila who is now 4 and a half), Maman Presidente has turned into a formidable campaigner. Here are a few pictures of this charming first lady--included are moments of the low key customary union and the religious marriage ceremony in June 2006 to the excitement of the campaign trail. She is far more charismatic than her husband, who is a calm and flegmatic man. On an anecdotal note: 1)at her marriage all the political adversaries were present (including vice president Ruberwa), with the exception of Jean-Pierre Bemba who claimed he had to tour Kivu at that moment! 2)I just read on Digitalcongo that Bemba and all the MLC cadres have sent all their spouses and families to Europe: are they cooking up something for November 19? and do they think Europe would be a safe haven for them when they start another bloody enterprise in the Congo? 3)I'm told by people in Kinshasa that they have nicknamed Olive Kabila "Maman Possible" for her energy.

Lingala is the language of barbarians. Im sorry tosay that but that is what Mobutu taught us. Kabila doesn't have to know that useless language. He speaks swahili,french and English. That's enough

While I dont agree with this stupidity, I must nevertheless state that Olive is very beautiful, and plus she can speak the Congolese language better than most! her bloody husband (a foreigner by western standards of definition), can hardly speak Lingala.

@taytodemayto I was born in the rich mining region of Kolwezi, a region that helped Mobutu maintain his grips of power during his useless 32 years. I, my family and friends were victims of all sorts of ill-treatments from Lingala speaking soldiers (mostly from Equateur) who Mobutu sent to protect the mines from ex-Katangese soldiers. These soldiers were calling swahili "monoko ya ba yuma". You understand why i call Lingala a language of barbarians.

@taytodemayto Mobutu was not Zairean nor was he Congolese therefore he wa not authentic... That is my point of view and nobody, I say nobody would change it until otherwise...That man plotted with his masters (Western powers) to get rid of Lumumba. Sorry if this will make you more SAD...
