A key to accurate ski race hand timing is to ensure that each watch in a matched set are precisely synchronized. In USSA and FIS ski racing, we use the time of day (TOD) method. That is, the TOD of a racer's start is subtracted from the TOD of that racer's finish to calculate the elapsed time. This video demonstrates how to synchronize a set of Tag Heuer MS200 stop watches. The TOD of the master clock is referenced so that the TOD measurements taken with the stopwatches during the race (by pressing the SPLIT/LAP button) will correspond with the times recorded by the electronic timers, which should also by synchronized with reference to the master clock.

I do not understand why the stop watches does not have an external connector so you can stop or syncronize the watches externally with a cable, a photocell, etc.

Due the need, i had to build my own stopwatch with external connections.

It's impressive that you were able to build your own stopwatch. I've seen people re-task Tag Heuer CP520 electronic chronoprinters as stopwatches for handtiming, which incorporate external connections. However, that's a pretty expensive route unless you happen to have upgraded your electronic timers and happen to have surplus CP520's.

You can see my solution in TIMINGGUYS, (Reconditioned Equipment for sale)

However, i want to get the full version of SPLIT SECOND (through "alternative" ways) and plug my photocells in it.

Very nice videos by the way, also it would be nice a stop watch with automatically syncing from gps, but certainly you would gotta kill your mother to buy one jaja, bye

I dont want to know how much money you are gonna need, to buy a complete timing system with timers, photocells and software. I dont think is fair i have to sell my car just for measure a fucking time jeje. So i built my own stopwach, photocell, and software system, which is very simple but very effective.

Exactly, its a shame you have to pay fortunes in timers with a lot of functions, when you only want a simple stopwatch with external connections.

Alge, Microgate and Tag Heuer are very quality equipments but i think they are very overpriced. A chinese manufacturer could make a similar product, for the price of a cell phone.

Software is very, very expensive too, like SPLIT SECOND.

900 bucks for a few years of license?

The software should be free when you buy a photocell.
