Students from Chicago's Mayo Elementary School performed a scene from my middle grade novel, TANEESHA NEVER DISPARAGING as part of the http://www.OpenBookProgram.org, December 2009. I watched 9 schools perform live scenes from the book. Mayo Elementary chose to include videos as part of their dramatized courtroom skit in which Taneesha's imaginary evil twin, Evella, sues Taneesha for firing her. In this clip, 11 year-old Taneesha has reluctantly been nominated for her 5th grade classroom presidential spot. Evella can't keep from letting Taneesha know that since she's a loser she'll never win the race.
