I used to have a bunch of 7-eleven video game slurpee cups.

The atari 2600 and 800 congo bongo were not as good as other versions like the c64 version.

That's not the case here. This WAS the arcade game. It wasn't the 2600 version. And as of today, this is also the hardest most impossible game to find in this original arcade version that you see in this cool commercial. All you get now are the console versions that have been uploaded, or the revamped PVP version that's STILL not this arcade version that was out. This was a RAVE of a game back in the day because it was so advanced as far as the look).

And this is not the Atari 2600 Version. This is the actual arcade footage from the real arcade game.

I wish people could find the actual arcade for this game and upload it. All the uploads that say arcade on them so far ARE NOT the arcade. They're all the different console versions that have been out, or a revamp of it for the PSP, which is still not this same Arcade version.
As a child, I remember seeing commercials for Congo Bongo on television. It was most likely this ad shown here.
All I wanted for my 2600 and Christmas was that darned game.
Well, spoiled child I was, I did receive Congo Bongo, but it was nothing like what I had seen.
Pure suckage. My first real duped experience with advertising.
Thanks for the memories.....I think.

it was common to use "redrawn screens" in magazine ads; but using a cartoon in a TV commercial and making it look like a video game sequence !.. it's almost felony :(
