Grace at the time of the comment was 70 years old. She knows she cannot produce the sound therefore she will not embarass herself to try. I respect her for understanding limitations with aging and retirement. Some don't get it.

Highly unlikely that's Mickey Thomas-- if you were at this show and he was introduced as Mickey Thomas and nobody laughed, I'll believe it. Paul Kantner sued Thomas successfully for rights to the 'Jefferson' name, so Thomas can only tour as 'Starship', and he was doing it in 2003. Thomas is a cheeseball; I can't imagine Kantner wanting him around at this point. For what, "We Built This City"? Thomas re-recorded all that '80s stuff in 2002 and didn't even give his band album credits.
