Could'nt have asked for a better birthday present, than Silva scoring a goal that night! Kept his cool in a tense situation, initially denied by De Gea, David somehow managed to drag the ball out of the melee, make a 360 degree turn and skip around the returning defenders, to make a clinical shot that opened the scoring in the 20th minute. A threat even when his team had nine men, but was later restricted to a defensive role.
P.S : Aguero finally managed to score on some 850-ish chance he got that night :)

Awesome SONG choice!!

God .. silva did everything to NOT score in that goal ... De Gea did brilliant to stop his lazy shot .. when he should have squared it for Mata (who needed to hurry up himself and get in position to score!) Then after regaining the ball he went looking for options when he had an open net ... took the shot when everyone was on top and luckily got it in.

Yes but Baresi isnt around now .. it isnt 1989 anymore. Its cannavaro, zambrotta etc and they are no good. Only chiellini is some what good ... rest are ..

Perhaps it goes goes in circles.I was massive fan of Serie A with players of; Zidane,Boban,Del Piero,Mancini, Lombardo,Weah,Baggio,Nedved, etc.But the league had declined in it's quality&La Liga took off upto todays Pedro,Cazsorla,Bojan,Higuain,A­guero, Mata, Reyes, Forlan, Villa, Navas, Negredo etc

I like what you're saying about the Italian defending being a work of art, tho I guess I'm more of an lover/advocate of attacking football and pure technique, a la Raul. Viva Football Still tho!

Serie A isn't as negative as people make out, there are plenty of brilliant technical players in the league. Pirlo, Pato, Ronaldinho, Milito, Balotelli, Di Natale, Miccoli, Pastore, etc, etc.

Also, Italian defenders make defending look like art. Nothing better watching a peak Baresi win a ball cleanly and instantly launch a pin point attack.

@DaGunnersRvP : Hmmm.....stunning games due to massive lapses in concentration? I guess I'm referring to La Liga's superior technical passes and goals. Serie A can be so negative in its play, and games suffer. Things are improving, I'm a massive fan of Balotelli and Sneijder and they're improving Serie A slightly, but need2b more consistent. Nothing atm compares to the consistent technical goals and games provided consistently by Iniesta, Xavi, Silva, Canales etc. Pure football.
