In West Africa, the Sahara desert is growing by thousands of square kilometres a year and the search for water for people and their animals becomes ever more desperate. When I was young it was easy to get water, but not these days, said Alioune Modhi, a Mauritanian nomad. Sometimes I dig 12 wells and still dont find water. Its our biggest problem.
Thank U very much 4 your wonderful insight about Mauritania, the country I love..There is a serious of management. In other words, those great nomadic Mauritanians do not want to sell some of their beasts to improve their own conditions..U are absolutely right, animals come first. No joke about it. It' s very complex to understand but the answer is they love MILK n CHEESE which are provided by those animals, especially the female ones.
Thks again 4 sharing n hopefully U' ll keep us updated.
