I am Belarusina and have been in Russian many times.

Although there are similarities between the two, indeed these are two different nations. Not only on genetic level but olso on cultural . Comparing Belarus and Russian is like comparing US and Canada rather than US and Taxes.

Belarus, like Estonia, Poland or Finland, was forsed to be part of Russia.

@LuvMyLilBabe of course to a degree they are similarities, and influences will be strongly felt, however they both do have their own identities, personally I find Belarusians slightly more humble (of course thats my own opinion)

@lynus111 actually americans and canadian are very much alike. i live on both countries for equally a long time. i never really notice difference although some states are more like canada than others like minnesota or wisconsin are more like alberta and ontario, vancouver are like seattle and san francisco. take it from me, been there done that..
