I have never been to Brazil, however I am Guyanese American. my whole family is from Guyana, directly above Brazil and we now live in NY. I am doing my graduate study on the cultural patterns of members in the African Diaspora. I think it is a bit of a blanket statement to say that black people in any country outside of Africa are full black. we have post-colonialism to thank for the array of complexions and features in most Islandic, Latin American or North American countries. Still, Brazil ha

@ImGonnaKillYou2nd In the west of Brazil, there aren't many blacks. though black is black, because black they call negro or preto there, what's normal. Facts are Majority of them in the west are white, second mulatos (black mix with white), third Amerindian (Amazon indians), minority cafuzos (black mix with amerindian), blacks and asian (japanese, chinese and from india)

@ImGonnaKillYou2nd that's not the point of they are still called black if they are black. black is black, but to understand the how complex it is you should know their background.

@brazilvideoinfo most blacks in the west are mixed but they are still called "black" for some reason.

on thing is for sure, BAHIA is a vibrant state.

Bahia is only in the eyes of foreigners (Gringoes) a black state because in their country, they are being taught that it is without questioning or doing their own research. Fact is Bahia (like other north eastern states) have many black/dark skin people, but professors who knows how to research their true DNA have proven that majority aren't full black at all. Majority are blacks mix from European (Dutch, French, Portuguese, British and Irish) and Natives roots. Minority are full black.

Responder a este vídeo... What's more obvious to me here is the mix. Differently from countries like the US, France or UK people from different races blend in. We are not scared of describing anyone as black, japanese or whatever. But there is no actual "barrio", "gueto" etc based on race. We all carry the same sense of misidentity when it comes to racial background. There's no diff dress code, behavior, language, set of values or location that could demonstrate that.
