Coffs Harbour - Untidiest Town In The State

Coffs Harbour streets have become a disgrace and many areas are covered in take away food refuse.
No one's doing a thing and the local council is so poorly run that they don't even take any notice.

Rubbish just keeps piling up ruining the enviroment and overall look of the town.
The creeks are full of rubbish and shopping trolleys and the council has too many outdated bylaws.

It seems nothing is enforcable. Just like their outdated dog ownership laws. This is the face of tourism Coffs Harbour shows to its visitors.

Well its 2011 now and just a couple of days ago I made another update to this pollution saga in Coffs Harbour. And you guessed it it hasn't changed one bit.

The mangroves are full of rubbish as are streets. Its not just one area but sections all around the town. Even some of the schools are starting to look a little like tips.

You obviously haven't walked down the main road near Park Beach Plaza back toward the town.

Step out of you car and walk around the town. Look in the creeks.

Look at the creek side easements near Orlando Street and the Highway.

Most of this rubbish has been there for over 4 years and it just piles up and gets mowed over into thousands of pieces.

Booze bottles, broken glass, trolleys rusting away in the creek and it's just getting worse. We walk past it everyday.

I live in Coffs & walk a LOT. I've 'threatened' to make a film like this for ages. There are times when it really is bad. I can't understand why people can't take their rubbish w/them. I left Oz many yrs ago & it was pretty okay rubbish wise, came back 7 yrs later & thought I was still in a 3rd world country - was shocked at the amount of disrespect for our cities & towns w/the rubbish. People usually don't see it as they are in cars. Walk & then see just how much rubbish there is.

While Coffs Harbour may not be the tidiest town on the Mid North Coast we are not as bad as your film depicts. Most of the images are repeated throught your film which suggests maybe there wasnt as much litter as you would have people believe.
