Why is taking care of rivers important? Join us for a five-minute video featuring a collage of voices from Northern Forest Canoe Trail (NFCT) partners describing why they think healthy rivers matter. An original acoustic song, "Rivers Run", provides a melodic backdrop, while video clips and images from along our route convey the many ways rivers intersect our lives. NFCT is a 740-mile water trail from the Adirondacks to northern Maine. In its traverse across this rugged landscape known as the Northern Forest, NFCT links 22 rivers and streams, 56 lakes and ponds, and 40 rural communities as it spans New York, Vermont, Quebec, New Hampshire, and Maine.
