"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." - Aristotle

Here at tradeMONSTER we believe in 2 things: disciplined investing and overcoming odds. We set out to prove that by incorporating a disciplined approach, mental toughness and strategic focus toward a desired goal it is possible for anyone to reap positive returns. As they say in the IRONMAN community, "Nothing is Impossible". It simply takes commitment to push oneself beyond the mental demons telling you that "you can't do it" and to yell back with "I CAN".

Watch this video as tradeMONSTER's own, Travis McGhee, takes the IRONMAN challenge head-on, competing in the August 2011 Louisville event. After a year of training and preparation he entered the 140.6 mile event both mentally and physically prepared, dedicating his participation to the Semper Fi Fund and all of his injured Marine Corps brethren. Travis is not a professional athlete, nor an IRONMAN veteran. In fact this was the first time he has ever attempted an IRONMAN. He is simply your average fitness junkie inspired by what most perceive to be "impossible" challenges. Taking what he learned in the military, as well as the trading pits of Chicago trading options and futures, he applies a disciplined approach to completing the grueling journey and comes out the other end successful.

If there is one thing Travis learned during his long, hot, day in Louisville, was that, like in online trading, it is very evident those who choose to take the easy way out and spend minimal time training. These were the people lined up alongside the road waiting for a van ride back to the start. But for those who had the guts to commit themselves to proper preparation, they were able to successfully power through the mental obstacles and physical pain without derailing. So if you take anything away from this video, it is that "success is not given, it is earned!" Take the time to incorporate discipline into your life and understand that there is no easy way to achieve success. Trade Tough!
