I've already seen this Japanese star maples are imported to the US. I've seen them in SanFrancisco. I think you can find it in the plant market.

I'm not so sure about that, Cyborlite. I chose more obviously 'beautiful' subject-matter, but the soothing feel of your train ride is a slice of Japanese reality itself, with wonderful use of music and the surrounding sounds. Thanks for the comment, too!

Thank you StarFires! Japanese maples are beautiful indeed. They are analogous to the fiery stars of the heavens here on earth -- only that their various colours are prettier.
One needs to view different galaxies from a certain distance to match the Japanese StarFires of our planet.*****

Paradise Earth, you certainly saw something here that struck me whilst photographing these leaves. They are like stars and for a while I used one as a symbol for my name- like you say, referring to a heavenly star manifesting upon the Earth.
From our perspective, each leaf is small, but they still have the beauty of whole galaxies. Thank you so much for your comment.

..yeah, apparantly i did forget to comment, i'm so SCATTERED with exam all over the place - on ein a few hrs in fact, heh - but that was gorgeous - i hate the way that most of the nature surrounding UK's churches = graveyard; while i still find them peaceful, they lack that kind of tranquility

Hi, I really appreciate your taking the time to comment here and hope the exams go well! I love the gardens in temples here, they have managed to keep a lot of beautiful nature in such places. People flock here to see autumn leaves or cherry blossoms, or when there is a special reason to come. Even in very crowded urban places you can find such gardens, creating an oasis of serenity. The UK has lovely parks though and I suppose a lot of them used to be private gardens.
