The trailer for our newest film, "Persephone" an experimental retelling of the Greek myth of Persephone: "the pomegranate story".

Persephone was the daughter of Demeter, the goddess of fertility and abundance. She was kidnapped by Hades and taken into the underworld. She could only return to the living world if she had not eaten any of the food of the dead. Having eaten six seeds from a pomegranate she spends six months in the land of the living and six in the land of the dead.

  • I'm not very pleased, this is my favorite greek myth and they kinda ruined it. They portray hades as some kind of pedifile when he wasn't . plus the masks were just not working out. alot of you won't agree with me but that is just how I feel

  • cool but the masks are REALLY creepy

  • Hades was a pedophile. This myth in Greek can be translated as "the Abduction of Persephone" or "The Rape of Persephone."

The myth of Persephone is a Tragedy.

  • Very good point. Perhaps because they aren't pretty perfect masks is why people are frightened away so much. The masks are more human than the face beneath perhaps.

  • Interesting how many people are frightened away by the masks or who feel that they disrupt the myth considering that Greek theatre was traditionally performed by masked actors. And by how many people were disturbed by what they saw: unlike a human face that can project emotion a mask can only reflect it. The expressions that one sees on a mask are reflections of one's own inner thoughts.
