nice job i recently made a couple of bows only i used an old pair of downhill ski's for the limbs .the front half of both ski's i made two bows ( takedown recurve ) i cut the front half of one made a riser mounted it and i get 45 lbs @ 30 the second i changed the angle on the riser where the limbs attach and cut the new limbs mounted those and i get 50 lbs @ 30 but i was not satisfied so from the back half of both ski's i cut one limb from each mounted those to a riser and im pullin 75 lbs @ 26
I for one like the bow but was wondering if part of limb where handle attaches was thick enough? Sounded like it hit hard enough--ha ha and riser design is neat and sturdy looking--hope you can bag that turkey friend
looks a bit on flimsy side but nice in design---maybe I'm wrong but I thought limbs weren't quite as thick where they attached to handle as they need to be? I think the handle is nice design---
@kbollhunt2010 Get a recurve that is very long, at least 62 inches... Then get arrows that are have a spine weight a 5-10 pounds more than the bow says it shoots at 28 inches.. If you get a 45 pound bow, I'd go with 50-55 spine weight with your draw as you will stack it when you pull past 28.
i made nice safe bows to but im not that good nice job...

@aznboi344 I agree. He needs some sort of bracket or you are going to lose a limb sooner or later..

I'd worry about it breaking right at the limb bolts. I'd glue a lam on top where the bolts are to prevent the wood from splitting
