Take a look at some of the winning photos with two of the judges from the Royal Observatory Greenwich, public astronomer Marek Kukula and astronomy programmes manager Olivia Johnson.

The judges' choice of the best images can be seen in a free exhibition at the Royal Observatory Greenwich, London, until February 2012.

  • I dont find the layered photos worthy. The picture should reflect a true object in space and time or timespace. To impose or enhance the photo is a false image. Good for research but most people want a "HONEST" photo. Not fantasy. Time laps is not fantasy But most people realize hey, this is time laps. an X ray is not what you see but is good for science research.
