Take a trip from Dover to Calais in under an hour on what was the Concorde of the channel seas really. Leaving from the old hovercraft launch site (ok which was a little faster i think, but that was prop driven and this was jet powered) this mighty beast ate Norfolk Line ferries for breakfast, and P&O's efforts for lunch and tea.
But why was the service dropped...It was so good. I heard rumours they couldn't pay the port charges. More like they were forced out by competitors in a gigantic conspiracy against law abiding channel crossers in preference to the tiny minority who enjoy stale pies and overpriced chips while taking 2.20 minutes hours to get to the arse end of Dunkirk, and who coincidentally happen to own ferry co stock.
Bah humbug.
But Speed ferries went to Boulogne and not Calais !!!
