This is just a guess, but since the mushroom war gave off radiation, wouldn't Marceline be a mutant right at this time? I mean she couldn't have be a vampire right now because of no bite marks and the fact that she's not floating around. If you saw her house in this episode, you'd see a picture of an adult similar to her and maybe her in a baby photo with her mom holding her. And since clothes and necessities were scarce that could also be an example of after the war.
