In this show I interview Ron and Kay Rivoli of the Rivoli Revue. We talk about their unique style of music and their major hit song and video, "Press 1 For English". All heard on the Conscience of Kansas radio program with host Paul A. Ibbetson.

  • Great video. Great discussion.

  • @RiversharkI Thank you.

  • I think Ron and Kay lied about the response to Press 1 for English, though. If you look at the comments for that song, it's in constant debate. It's a difficult subject with no real answer and I think their song was a bit bull-headed.

What bothers me is that other countries are trying harder than we are with linguisticss, and we're telling them to try harder with messages like this.

  • @GrumpyShow

Its really not a difficlut subject. All countries have a national language and expect people learn the nation's language if you live there. With respect Grumpy, tell which country spends more money to accoodate other languages than America. Put have english as a national language in America on the ballot in the US anytime and it wins hands down. Speak any language you want but learn english to do business and communicate within mainstream society in America, pretty simple.

  • Paul Ibbetson is the biggest MORON in Kansas!

He HATES America and everything it stands for.

  • @macindrew

I think we blocked you but just in case. Blocked!

  • What is even worse and more dangerous, is the Spanish-speaking workers in the medical field who don't speak clear English and miscommunication and mistakes cost people their lives.

  • @ibbetsonusa I see what you're saying, and I agree that English is the business language for not only America, but the world at the moment - and I think we've let that get to our heads so we can say we don't need to learn other languages, but demand it from others at the same time.

Spending money on something isn't the same as putting effort into it. That's like giving a dog 20 bucks to buy dog food. Look at Europe. Heck, even Japan requires six years of English up to high school.

  • @underlinedbluetext

It must be sad to be such a hater. Your blocked.

  • fuck kansas. blow that shit hole up.
