It's time to move on. Our country, and all of us, need to move from a fossil fuel past to a renewable energy future.

The mood in Britain has turned very much against the Big Six energy companies. And it's not hard to see why. People are fed up with the unethical pricing, complex tariffs, awful customer service and the dire lack of investment in new sources of green energy.

It's become quite unbearable, self evidently. Even the government are calling on people to leave the Big Six.

People:Power can bring change to the energy sector -- when people join Ecotricity they vote with their energy bills - and the more that do so the better. Together we can harness the energy bills of Britain and direct them to a proper outcome - the creation of a Green, energy independent Britain -- a Green Britain.

How is the metal in them made, how is the metal transported, how are the parts shipped, how are they constructed, and how are they maintained?

"Burn stuff & make energy," with a different name.

"Global Whining". Please people do your research. Every study has been rebuked by scientist with no agenda, that global warming is not a danger, & if anything @ all, a natural evolving process. Mt. Saint Helens is still the greatest natural disaster on record. Guess what happened to the damage done to the ozone layer as a result of the eruption. Give up? That's right overtime the ozone layer shows no signs of the deteriation that was present after the NATURAL disaster. Mine coal & drill for oil

If it's an effective means of energy I don't see why not.

But, again, read my reply to jcameroon69. It sounds like you have been struck with fear by what the media tells you to fear. There are plenty of articles on the safety of nuclear power (especially in comparison to other means of energy).

I do understand your concerns with storing radioactive material however.

    radioactive

    fallout.

We should invest in SAFE thorium salt reactors that arent harmful& arent a excuse for nuclear weaponary profileration, but nuclear right now is vdodgy process from the uranium mining to decommissioning& storage, etc.

I'm surprised at how many people took this as an anti Nuclear Power message which it wasn't. The target is "The Big Six" and fossil fuel heavy energy mix they produce versus the renewable heavy mix that Ecotricity produces. The fact that Ecotricity has a smaller nuclear energy component is just in line with the smaller fossil fuel produced component. I expect it represents the most expensive component on a per KWH basis, or would do if all capital costs were included. Well done Ecotricity.

Sounds like you know nothing about nuclear power plants, as the reactors cannot explode as a nuclear bomb would. However, an explosion could potentially damage a reactor and cause a radiation leak. But understand nuclear power is largely feared in a nonsensical manner, as they're FAR less dangerous than portrayed in the media. If anything, fossil fuel power causes many many many more deaths than nuclear power ever will.

the process of moving to more stable, renewable and eco-friendly forms of energy generating is a slow process because we as a race need to slowly warm to the idea. you can't just switch over night because for this to happen everything we use will have to change too. and the cost of such a act would be too high for everyone. it would cause an economic disaster and chaos.... maybe even threaten to throw us back an age if our luck was bad enough

you're missing the point, it's about energy sources, not how its made
