the breaks in this song seem to be it's selling point....but I honestly find them rather boring. At least compared to kind of shit aphex twin dreams up.
..let me guess you are american and dont understand the difference between the subgenres enough to not compare photek's sound with aphex's drill n bass sound.
huh, thats strange, since Aphex Twin refers to his own music as drum n bass. I don't think anyone at Rephlex even recognizes drill n bass as a genre.
....let me guess you are too busy smelling your own farts and calling it roses to realize that distinction was contrived for people with no other reasons to feel cool except their own made up exclusivity.
trust me there is a thing called "drill n bass" and aphex's "come to daddy" is a perfect example of it, its not my fault you dont know shit, you should stick to rnb and country music. the 5 thumbs down on your original comment proves what a stupid comment it was comparing this style to aphex's style.. so funny when americans talk about dnb... just call it "techno" like the rest in your country and stfu
that was my original comment. I think it reasonable to refer to the music as it's author does. You can call it whatever you want, Its still all breakbeat. Did I miss the cool people class where they tell you to only compare music according to completely subjective genres?
I never said Jaykob277's comment isn't lame, it's just that yours invites contradiction by proposing that all people of a certain nationality don't understand electronic music.
Wikipedia does not agree that drill is a distinctive genre, neither do many of the artists on the former drill page, but I do. That is still a subjective view. Your arguments are a straw man, you don't know anything about what I think about music and you are wrong in your assumption that nationality dictates a person's opinion on anything, something I frequently hear American's being accused of.
I'm Mexican anyway, we just make all our music sound like Mariachi.
You need to understand that dnb has many subgenres just like any other music form, drill like mashcore, raggacore, drum n noise, industrial breaks etc are underground subgenres and in most cases all these sound the same and the names are just made up by the record companies or critics. The point is that its unfair to compare photek who has a very authentic style wich is much closer to pure dnb, to aphex twin who has a "broken" and experimental style. I like both btw but it's 2different subgenres
I agree, I mostly took exception to to your comment that being American had something to do with the original posters ignorance. I also don't think that there is a standard quantification for these distinctions.
I live in South Florida, which is like the Mecca of US electronic music.
