Buy this Jaguar here... http://www.nevadamusic.co.uk/Guitars/Electric-Guitars/Electric-Guitars/sc1437...

Here we have an interesting blend of old and new, firstly the iconic Fender Jaguar has been expertly re-created here by Squier replacing the traditional single coil pick-ups with humbuckers to provide a fresh twist on this otherwise retro-styled guitar ...

The vintage modifications could be the fact that the bridge is equipped with additional screws to fine-tune the intonation or perhaps that Squier have re-created the '62 style stacked concentric volume and tone controls. The Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar is presented here in an eye-catching fiesta red colour with a Rosewood fretboard, the body has been crafted from Basswood complimented by a Maple neck hosting 22 medium jumbo frets with inlaid dot position markers ...

There are two Seymour Duncan designed hum-bucking pick-ups - a HB102B at the bridge with a HB102N at the neck position and these are controlled by two concentric stacked rotary knobs that use the top rotary control for the tone and the bottom one for the volume. A 3-way toggle switch decides on pick-up options whilst the top-loading hard-tail bridge features string saddles that are adjustable for intonation and designed to have a 9.5" radius when sitting flat on the bridge plate.

The bridge is anchored at the rear of the plate while the front sits atop height adjustment screws that can be raised or lowered to achieve desired string height/action, while subtle adjustment at the rear (anchor) achieves the correct bridge angle. Check out the Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar HH Electric Guitar in Fiesta Red now at the Nevada Music warehouse ...

  • i think these new squier jags and jazzes are cool. i love that theres so many different stripped down versions of these guitars today, great for modding. if you want an old school jag, guys, you can still get one, no need to be purist snobs. only thing i dont like about this jag is the scooped tone of the basswood body, that thing would be absolutely perfect if not for that. but im definitely gonna check out that jazz!

  • It's certainly not a typical Jaguar. Nor is the new Squier Jazzmaster a typical Jazzmaster. But at the same time, look at the Fender Deluxe Telecaster. That guitar does not deliver the traditional telecaster sound. But because it has been proven to have a useful and versatile sound all its own, it is looked at as a respectable guitar.Yeah a trem would have been sweet, but there's plenty of other interesting features on this guitar. I'm not gonna knock these axes until I try 'em.

  • That color combo with the tortoise pickguard is quite possibly one of the ugliest things I've ever seen on a guitar. That being said, this thing plays nice and gritty, and I think I might have fallen in love with it.

  • love everything but the zebra pickups...

  • @RastaSaiyaman You could also go for the vibrola type vibrato that GFS sells. Really cheap and no routing required. Though you'd still have to work something out with the bridge.

I have the jazzmaster btw and it's a really nice guitar. great quality

  • @steffenla4 If I were going to mod one of these, I'd put on either a Bigsby or a Stetsbar since neither of those requires routing.

I'm going to get myself one of those guitar and fit it with Jag Single coils so it's going to sound more like a Jag.

  • @paul0o93 You would probably have to change the bridge. Also, if you want a Jaguar trem you'd need to rout out a cavity in the body wood. People have done this, though. Check out forums like shortscale[dot]org or just use google for more info

  • @DanielAwesomeSauce14 Buzz from the pick ups? you ever tried rolling off the tone? I don't know about these guitars but they seem pretty good :)

  • @MattTMoss i have the fiesta red

  • @DanielAwesomeSauce14 no it doesnt

  • I own one (in this finish) and no you cant put a tremolo one it
