Sam's 4th official fight and first Modified Thai rules bout (Wagga Wagga 30/10/10). Although I was happy with the result at the time (draw), I believe he did enough to take the win - particularly after his big effort in the 3rd round. We took a lot of lessons from this fight so certainly can't complain. Big thank you to brother Adem Yilmaz (Phoenix BK/Tanglang Quan She) and crew for the time and effort spent helping Sam prepare for this fight. Great to bring the family together. Cheers to Jordan and Mark (TLQS Fight Squad) for keeping it all together on the night. Big ups also to Anthony Manning (Phoenix Gym) for his assistance and valuable advice.

Nice work Sam. You can only improve from here.

  • @passdagard cheers. Just doing my job as coach and tryna keep as much under the hat as possible.

  • @passdagard I get ya. All stuff to consider anyway.

  • @Tunks1 never suggested Sam wasn't strong. Infact just the opposite. Just wondered about technique mainly. Cheers :-)

  • @Tunks1 lol that's pretty funny. Not trying to be sneaky just asking :-)

  • @Tunks1 earlier...

  • @passdagard pretty sure he'd tap within seconds as soon as he touched the canvas (maybe even earler).

P.S - not doing a very good job at remaining undercover if you're digging for an inside advantage in preparation for an upcoming bout ;)

  • @passdagard No worries. We'll get that lack of technique and strength issue sorted for you ASAP.

  • @Tunks1 Just as a matter of interest does Sam do much grappling? I know Phoenix gym has a rep for building machines but is it mainly standup? The reason I ask is that I know Sam is happy to fight MMA. I'm wondering if he would rely mainly on his stand up to help him or whether he's happy to go to ground. I watched his take downs in San Shou last year and no offence intended, they seemed very basic and relied mainly on strength not technique.

  • Nice Job!!

  • @tanglangmen Thanks. Yes, we will need to be smarter next time.
