80's had the coolest scary movie music ever. And the coolest music and movies for that matter. And AC/DC made the "Who Made Who" album just for this movie. Emilio Estevez, an evil clown faced truck, AC/DC ... does it get any cooler than this? I think this might have even played at the drive-in.

I can confirm ForbiddenOmegaWave's comment. I'm a writer and I've been listening to the audio book 'On Writing' by Stephen King. He himself says that Maximum overdrive is the worst thing he has ever written/directed and that he was high on cocaine.

Okay, I grew up in the 80's, was raised by a mother that was obsessed with Stephen King books and movies. I grew up around horror movies and I can tell you that back then when this came out, it was in fact scarey. Of course it's probably not scarey now or even in the 90's because movies have evolved since then. And if you've grown up in the 90's + with all the special affects they have now in movies, of course this won't seem scarey to you. Back then..and still now...this movie kicks a*s.
