  • Ayn Rand, douche.

  • @redlightmax That is, of course, a half truth.

I have no problem believing good things can come from government. Even Milton Friedman acknowledged it's hard to spend that much money and not do any good. The question we need to ask ourselves is how much more good the private sector could have done with that money. Like most government apologists you focus on the benefits of government programs while ignoring the opportunity cost.

  • If you want to wind up a libertarian just tell them that the internet came from a government project (DARPA).

  • if you believe in the free market system then you'll have a difficult time being a christian because jesus christ did not like rich capitalist...

he said 'it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of an needle than a rich man to go to heaven'

    christianity inspired COMMUNISM...

  • @TheVikingNinja " there is an argument for a new system that maybe has elements of collectivism, and limited capitalism"

you mean like the system of today? if you wan't a new system, the only option is Capitalism.

  • Haha Burn's hair, clothing and style in this video resemble Ayn Rand's!

  • Unsustainable? Laughable. You have no knowledge of economic systems and their history.

And yes, a free country should mean a freedom to do anything to yourself, even killing yourself.

Religion dies in any society that continues the pursuit of intelligence and knowledge. It will be completely dead with time. Even if it takes a couple hundred year...if religious nuts don't destroy us all first.

  • there probably would have been a full on revolution in this country. i think what we are seeing now is some kind of non violent revolution. i could be wrong, but i think faith in religion is circling the drain and people are tired of seeing the super rich have such nice cushy lives will the majority in the world have truely shitty lives.i'm not completely against capitalism, but i think it can now only work with global government, international business has gotten to powerful and must be checked

  • i support the war on drugs. there obviously has been problems, but taking steps to hinder drug addiction doesn't seam like a bad idea to me. ''freedom to do anything to yourself'' how does that philosophy relate to abortion? when does the developing human get a self? trying to make things better for people is hardly trying to make things perfect. capitalism is flawed and unsustainable as we see today, things like welfare in this country are there for capitalism, if we never had social programs

  • Capitalism is quite limited in this country. The regulation is the root of most of the problems. We pretend that drugs, and not the war on drugs, is the problem.

Freedom to do anything to yourself is the freedom i'm discussing. This isn't about anarchy. Protecting 3rd parties is a structure of the government.

Things can't be perfect. Trying to make it so only creates more problems.

Any system run by the government is, on its face, flawed. The system allowed to run itself is moral.
