Honor killings cross cultures and recognize no nation's boundaries. No one has done more to draw attention to this small but pervasive category of murders than Jordanian journalist Rana Husseini.
Rana took on the difficult task of reconstructing honor killing cases when almost no one else was reporting on them. Her efforts to understand the incomprehensible have taken her around the world - from St. Louis to Baghdad to Lahore and Amman. In the process, she has taken the time to examine each perspective - the women who escape, the men who commit these crimes and the parents who order them.
AAM's Andrew Masloski sat down with Husseini to discuss her new book "Murder in the Name of Honor" and both local and international efforts to end the practice of honor killings.
Everyone concerned about Islam should read Waffa Sultan's recent book:
A GOD WHO HATES It has amazing insight into the Islamic mindset and it's hatred of women, which of course 'Allah made deficient' Allah must hate women if he made them 'deficient'. Rather more Mohammed hated women since he was the real author of the messages from Mr. God. Islam is a mental aberration.
