Hi Shawn, this is terrific stuff! This video along with the" Downswing WeightShift video" have dramatically helped my game. The only issue I have now is with my longer irons 5-4-3( I play with blades) and I find that i cannot strike the ball in the same way as I do for my PW(130 yards)- 7 iron(170). Is there anyhting different i need to do for the longer clubs? I feel like I lose the the "hitting through the ball" feel with the longer clubs. Please help .thanks!!
Hey man! Thanks for the comment! You want to play the long irons like your fairway woods; see "golf pro lesson hybrids" and "golf pro lesson fairway woods and skipping technique"; Shawn
Sure! See "golf pro lesson one leg swing no weightshift" to begin and then continue with "one leg part 2 high and low shots" and then "golf pro lesson compress through the ball" Shawn
If you look at the "golf pro lesson timing and tempo update" video, you will find that the body is reacting to existing momentum and tracking on the part of the arm-club unit and is facilitating the freedom of the arm swing not allowing the arms to crash into the body; your central nervous system knows how to do this already...just focus on "heavy powerful momentum through the swat to the target" Shawn
This right here is powerful stuff! This is gold. Could you please advise me on one thing. I'm finding that it can cause me to pull the ball and come a bit over the top.
Hey Potex; That is due to the spine tilt angle on the downswing; best drill for this is "golf pro lesson one leg swing no weightshift", "golf pro lesson braced tilt part 2" and the "golf pro lesson tilted spiral part 1, 2 and 3 series"; enjoy! And thank you for the comment! Shawn
Hey Shawn - Thanks for the explanation. I have been reading Hogan's 5 fundamentals and started aggressively turning the left hip to initiate the downswing and spinning out causing blocks and shanks all over the place. This and your other videos have help me understand how to apply his fundamentals correctly, and along with all your other great advice my swing is back on track. Thanks again and keep up the great work (on the basis of your great youtube stuff I just ordered your DVD - cant wait!!)
