Hmm... some people sure make a big fuss about hockey without any reason... Sure, sport is usually good, but in that case children are often raised by "hockey dads" and hockey, competition and violence kinda become their reasons to live. Competition is often good because it motivates you to be better, but only if it's recieved with a positive attitude.

I dont think you know what youre talking about. Yes sometimes some parents can put pressure on their kids, however most kids love the sports they play and it has many positives including giving something constructive for kids to do keeping them away from temptations like drugs. It also teaches cooperation, teamwork, sacrifice and hard work. That was the best year and the most fun ive ever had and Id go back to do it again in a second.

As for the violence, it is exaggerated by people who are not in the environment of hockey. The worst cases are publicized by the media but they are relatively rare cases and should not be taken as a quantifier for the level of violence in minor Hockey.

But there's still a lot of violence, and many hockey players still take drugs. And hockey makes the players more agressive even when they are not in a game.

@kingmykein And what are you basing your judgement on? I could say kids cycling is a bad idea because cyclists in the tour de france drug themselves, but it has not link whatsoever. How do you know it makes them more aggressive when not in the game? Where does the judgment come from? Do you have research to back you up? Statistics? Personal experiences? What?
