@JimTLonW6 Not just Castles. On her centenary run over the Devon banks, 4-4-0 City of Truro recorded an incredible 1100 drawbar hp on Daignton bank. Even the crew were amazed at her power. Her safety valves were feathering at the summit!!

@beefv8 On the last mile up to Ais Gill summit, the driver was so confident in the boiler, that he gave her 50% cut off! Over the final mile, the Castle was banging out over 2030 drawbar horsepower!! Surely a record for the class, & fully equal to the all out drawbar hp of a 47/57 diesel! Incredible power from a small boilered 4-6-0.
