A few blades out there really get the perfect EDC blade shape and size down. Such examples would be the SOG Flash 1, the Benchmade 2550 Mini Reflex auto, Cold Steel Medium Voyager, and the Kershaw NRG 1. Add one more to that short list now: the Blade-Tech Ganyana Lite. It's 2 3/4" blade is ideal for just about any EDC tasks you'd send its way. Made of AUS8 steel and having a full flat grind, it's A LOT of quality at its very reasonable $25-ish price point. Deployment is also swift and sure and the lockup is solid on this 2.5 oz liner lock. Add to that a variety of handle colors (blaze orange, black, OD), a strong properly mounted clip, and outstanding jimping and the little Ganyana is a perfect EDC blade. Improvements might include skeletonizing the steel liners better textured Zytel handle, and a blackened clip... but that's about all. For this very low price I'm adding this one to my list of highly recommended, small EDC blades.
*** Thanks to Blade-Tech for providing these blades for review. These BT review videos would not have been made without their support.

  • Smith and Wesson knives ARE worth about 15 dollars.

I bought one for $8 and it was to show people an example of a bad knife.

  • S&W knives are... difficult. Some are decent. Some are complete bloody crap.

S&W strikes me as a company which hasn't decided yet whether they want to produce a decent product... or use their name recognition value to sell crap for more than it's worth.

I had one S&W which I threw away. I have another which I love so much I bought three of the exact same model. That's S&W.

  • Paused the vid at 8:41, and couldn't believe how thin the liner-lock is. It's not even a full liner. Considered buying this knife until I got a good look at that lock. That orange one might lock up tight, now. But down the road . . . That could be a different story.

  • its taken u 5:00 to begin about the jimping,. thats late bro! LOLOLOLOOLO

    have a nice day,.

  • This blade really reminds me of the Leatherman Skeletool blade!

  • Yet another very useful review - thanks Nutnfancy. After seeing this video I bought the Ganyana Lite in both OD green and orange. They seem very well made and were very sharp when I got them, but I used my ceramic sticks to sharpen them to a razor edge (I always test by shaving a spot on my arm). The V-Holes had extremely sharp edges on them which made them a bit uncomfortable to open, so I 'detuned' them with some small files.

  • The Bladetech Lites,Kabar Doziers and Ontario Rat Ones are all made in the same factory.

  • How about the Kershaw OD-2 what do you katz think of that

  • Just got a Ganyana Lite in OD; Love it. It's great. Durable, affordable, functional... You said that it wasn't all that sharp, but mine was razor sharp when I got it new. Either they changed it after this review, or I just got a good one. My only criticism of the knife is that the pocket clip seems way too strong, and I have a hard time getting it off of my pocket. Anyway, great review.

  • got mine today. great little knife. comparable to a delica, but pops out faster and is a little longer.

  • good vid thanks for the review !
