aranyrudak aranyérmék aranybefektetés: http://www.conclude.hu/ magyarul lsd. lent. The following clip is from the 1936 film entitled Hortobágy, directed by Georg Höllering. The film was adapted from Zsigmond Móricz's short story entitled Sullen Horse [Komor Ló]. The Hungarian composer and ethnomusicologist László Lajtha (1896-1962) was instrumental in the film's creation. It is likely that he also had a hand in this scene.
In the space of five minutes, it gives a concise summary of Hungarian folk music and art songs.
The revelry of the older generation illustrates the earlier period of folk music, when Hungarians still mainly danced and sang to bagpipe music, then the Gypsy band accompanies a newer style of Hungarian folk song and dance, after which it plays a (relatively lacklustre) Hungarian coffee house folk tune, requested by the wealthy young peasant.
By that time there were no active bagpipe players in the Hortobágy area, so József Koós himself a herdsman was bussed in from Nógrád county. The name of the old chief herdsman singing in the film is Imre Kovács, who plays himself in the film. The woman sitting beside him, to whom he is singing, is actually his wife;, but in the film she has been assigned the role of the widow Sárkányné.
In the following scene János Czinege, chief herdsman[in Hungarian: Számadó Csikós a wealthy horseman entrusted with overseeing the herds of landowners, for which he also bore financial liability], and his wrangler, or bojtár, Mihály Nagy, dance and sing.

For years, Lajtha tried in vain to raise the funds to produce an ethnographic documentary with sound. (How much there would have been to film back then!) Finally, the imagination of Austrian filmmaker Georg Höllering was captured by this feature film, which through its use of locals as actors has become an extremely valuable documentary.

A Georg Höllering által 1936-ban rendezett Hortobágy című filmből való a következő részlet. A film Móricz Zsigmond: Komor ló című elbeszélése alapján készült. A film létrejöttében nagy szerepe volt Lajtha Lászlónak. Ez a jelenet gyaníthatóan az ő kezenyomát is viseli.
Öt percben a magyar népzenéről és a műdal nótáról ad tömör összefoglalást.
Az idősebb korosztály mulatsága a népzene korábbi korszakát mutatja be, amikor még elsősorban dudazenére mulattak a magyarok, majd új stílusú magyar népdalt és táncot kísér a cigányzenekar, aztán pedig a gazdag parasztfiú által kért (elég gyenge) műdalt, "kávéházi" magyar nótát játsszák.
Ekkor már nem volt aktív dudás a Hortobágyon, úgyhogy Nógrád megyéből a borsosberényi Koós Józsefet hozták el, aki egyébként maga is pásztorember volt. Az éneklő idősebb csikós számadó neve Kovács Imre, aki a filmben saját magát alakítja. A mellette ülő asszony, akinek énekel, a valóságban a felesége volt, a filmben pedig özv. Sárkányné szerepét osztották rá.
A következő részletben Czinege János csikós számadó és bojtárja Nagy Mihály táncolnak énekelnek.

Lajtha éveken keresztül hiába próbált Magyarországon pénzt szerezni hangosfilmes néprajzi dokumentumfilm forgatáshoz (mi mindent lehetett volna még akkor fölvenni!). Végül az osztrák Georg Höllering látott fantáziát ebben a játékfilmben, mely az eredeti szereplőknek köszönhetően óriási értékű dokumentumfilmmé vált.

Mindenképpen érdekes régi filmeket nézni MINDEN létező piacról, hihetetlen dolgokba fut bele az ember. Éppen Karel Zeman, cseh rendezőre vagyok ráállva. A Watchovsky tesók is beszarnának, ha látnák milyen filmtrükköket csinált úgy ötven-hatvan évvel ezelőtt.

A film igazi kincs, emlékszem mekkorát néztem, mikor először belefutottam.

Azt viszont nem tudtam, hogy osztrák rendező munkája, ami viszont külön érdekessé teszi ezt a mozit.
