Americans give more than the people of almost any other country. Now we should take the next step--Americans should GIVE WELL. That's because when it comes to giving, it is not the size of the sacrifice that matters, but the magnitude of the effect. And if we give well--as opposed to giving blindly--we can magnify the effect of our giving by a factor of thousands. By giving no more than we already give, we can lift thousands out of poverty.
This video talk I gave one Sunday evening at the First Baptist Church of Shellman, Georgia. It includes pictures, names, and faces of people I met while teaching English in a slum in India, then discusses how giving well can help causes we care about.
