Dorothy & Toto.
-
Sooo bright! Aaaaaaaah!!!!!!!! But lovely performance!
-
This performance, good as it is, is one reason why certain MGM executives originally wanted the song deleted from the final release print in 1939 [one was quoted as saying the song sounded too much "like a Nelson Eddy number" instead of a young girl singing it].

i dislike this.

very very few chanteuse were/are in the class as garland maybe ella fitzgerald, streisand but not many. so give the lady a break

She should never have played Dorothy she is missing it the passion the voice just about everything sorry to be a downer but we have to saviour this song

terrible voice

Her voice is too pop-music sounding. She doesn't have the beautiful deep resonance of Judy Garland. They changed the key of the song to accommodate this girl's voice.
Nice try, but doesn't do justice to the original.

Why is everyone comparing this to Judy? It's like you guys are saying "Okay, remember if she sounds like Judy, this will be a great play, but if not then it sucks!". You guys need to stop comparing to the original, because for one thing this is a stage adaptation, and plus can't you guys hear that's she's not trying to sound like Judy?
