(2) I do remember You Keep Me Hanging On before that in in elementary school and liked it back then. Didn't know it was the same artist until a few years later after the mall experience. It took me a few years to learn who sang Kids In America. Then from there started discovering her other songs. The rest is history.
@bnewall1 I kept on playing "You Keep Me Hangin' On" thousands of times! I cannot get that song off my head! It's from the album "Another Step". Track #1! Also another song from the album "Say You Really Want Me" ranked higher in here. In the album "Love Moves" in 1990, Kim's voice sounded more mature. The song from "Love Moves" "I Can't Get Enough (Of Your Love)" is best! She filmed the music video "Time" in Italy. "World In Perfect Harmony" is good!
@sugarmommy79 Wow, a young fan! :) I'm 39 and was in junior high/high school when "You Keep Me Hangin' On" was #1. "You Came" is indeed a great song; too bad it didn't rank higher on the charts. Surprising, since the video was filmed while she was on the "Bad" tour with Michael Jackson
I remember the 1980s TV show Knight Rider where Michael Knight played the Kim Wilde music video "The Second Time". In America, we call the title another name. Also "You Came" ranked 41 in here but it wasn't that big of a hit. I like it anyway! It's such a shame that the most powerful and wealthy country on earth never heard of Kim! I am only 23 years old. I was borned the year where Kim's album "Close" was released! LOL!
@sugarmommy79 I'm in California. Kim was kind of a 1-hit wonder in the US, with her remake of The Supremes' "You Keep Me Hangin' On". "Kids In America", which came out 7 years earlier, wasn't that big of a hit, although that was probably the only other song for which Kim was known in the US. Too bad, since she's such a great talent!
(3) Why she's so underrated in America is beyond me. Makes no sense to me at all. But American Kim Wilde fans do exist.

@bnewall1 I live in the US too! I asked people if they heard of Kim Wilde and they said no. Which state do you live?

Precious doesn´t mean anything anymore cause Kim Wilde is a lot more than that.
