@Shanongao It is a German dish and so very rich in dairy. To be served at a dinner before the main course in small portions, not as a meal unto itself.

Jesus you might as well be drinking straight up heavy cream. Theres no nutrients to this soup at all, with all the artifical powders.

Thirty years ago my husband and I had beer cheese soup at the country club where my parents belonged. They served it with popcorn covering the small bowl in which it was served. I can't wait to try this, and see if I can duplicate it; popcorn and all. The bowl we had has been a wonderful memory to this day. Thanks for the post, and the memory.

I'm not American and when I saw there was such thing as beer cheese soup I was like "WHAAAAAAAT!!!!????" but actually that sounds amazing. Two things I love, combined in a soup.
