Bradley Manning appears in US court

Bradley Manning, the US soldier accused of giving massive troves of classified US documents to WikiLeaks, has appeared in a military court for the first time at a pre-trial hearing into his case.

A military court will decide whether he should face a court martial.

Al Jazeera's Rosiland Jordan reports from the Fort Meade military base, where Friday's court hearing was held.

@contacter --but the destruction of democracy in America is infecting the whole world & these forces are multinational. Monsanto, for example. Also, the fundamentalist mentality - antithetical to democracy and tolerance - respects no geopolitical boundary. Iceland is having the best success so far to reclaim democratic rule. I did this without any physical violence either, and I grew up to save the lives of fighting hoodlums from each other and victims from violent crimes several times.I believe in the justice of Bradley Manning and the cause of exposing war crimes and stolen tax money, but guilt or innocence is not my only criterion. That fact is indisputable. Bradey Manning will be sentenced to either LWOP or Death for his crimes if the concepts of honor and justice in our military still exists. I'm sure there's some way you could twist Hx. so that Benedict Arnold wasnt a traitor of the Revolutionary war which Jefferson wrote the Declaration of...but to presume to be smarter than Benjamin Franklin which you did in no uncertain terms...
