Politics would be just fine without religion. In fact, if politicians just did their jobs without wasting time and effort on giving more special privileges to Christianity and Islam, they would be able to focus their full time and effort on legislation that actually benefits society rather than legislation that rolls it back to the Dark Ages. It's fine if someone wants to live by the words of an old book, but they can just piss off if they think that they can force me to live like they do.
