He does sound like Christopher Walken. I'm waiting for him to say he'll stab me in the face with a soldering iron.

REALLY nice job. Awesome. And that's a WHITE shower curtain? Awesome.
-
@swarmobs If you wait til near the end, he does show it's a rear projection also.

Hey, thanx man! I'm in a similar bind for a small DJ gig and this should do the trick. Nice solution.

the shower curtain that he used will resist rain.. get a white transparent shower curtain.. just iron it with a sheet or cloth between the iron and curtain to get the rinkles out.. it works awsome... if you need something larger..check out ur local fabric store..

hey i'm looking at building a rear projection screen myself... where did you get your spandex material that size?
-
It may have been a cheap solution. But my god it looks cheap

i'm going to paint some ply... don't know how it's going to turn out
Its front projection not rear projection.
Good quick cheap solution but it doesn't do the projector justice especially with the wrinkles in the image.
would have been better off with a bed sheet or black out cloth.

A sheet or blackout cloth wouldnt have worked fro rear projection.
For the critics, i used this one time 2 years ago and have since made a new screen out of a lycra spandex material. Maybe ill post a vid of it at some point.

how did you make you lights dim when you turned them off! :D

Via a programmable electronic dimmer. Its an X10 compatible dimmer that i can control from the wall switch or an X10 controller.
Its actually a Decora style switch that mounts in a standard single gang box.
Works great for those dark early morning wake up calls, so my eyes dont get blasted.

Well im glad some of you have gotten some use out of the shower curtain idea.
I recently had to step it up a bit for a dance i was DJing in a hotel ballroom and bought some of the Dazian Trapeze Plus fabric for $57 and then had a local seamstress cut it down to 6'x8', sew the hems and stitch in 8 loops.
Worked well, but i think im going to have to beef up the loops they sewed in. I have it all mounted to an older lighting truss with bungees. Works awesome.

Totally cool 5 stars. Question... how well can you see a screen like this if normal room lights are on?
Thanks for the vid.

Not very well. If you notice in the video i have all the lights on at one point and the image is pretty washed out.
