Yes, I am a lecturer in Digital Design at the University of Hull's Scarborough campus, and we offer an excellent range of Digital Media degree programmes. 'Design for Digital Media' and 'Digital Arts' focus on the creative side of digital design with a good foundation in technology. 'Web Design and Development' concentrates on sophisticated web theory, technique and practice along with some design instruction.

are there a lot of features present in 8.5 that older versions dont have?

The manufacturers are always adding new features, especially in the rendering area. Also it is sometimes difficult to open older files in new versions of the software.

Ah man many thanks for this. My brother and I are just starting to get into Maya and we'd probably be lost without this. When I first looked at all the buttons and tools, I felt completely overwhelmed. Are you gonna make an advanced tutorial as well?

The point of this site is to get you started in Maya- where you take it from here is up to you. Maya is great but it is only a tool. What's really important is what you choose to do with the software, and how you choose to express your ideas. That's what the new lectures are all about.

But Maya is much more powerful.
