Here is a video demo of my Vox AC50cp2 with new upgraded Eminence Red Coat Private Jack speakers. I'm also using a humbucker equipped Les Paul on this one, so you can hear it with humbuckers.

  • Man, sounds soooo good and I know sounds even better up close!

  • @SpinGoldmusic yup, the digital compression of Youtube really squashed the fullness of the tone!

  • hmm this amp is ok but i need more bawls on the lead chanell. Im thinking of getting the bugera trirec as my next amp!

  • @hiian123 if you're looking at that Bugera copy of a Triple Rectifier, then you wouldn't like a Vox anyways. Two different animals. Make sure to buy the extended warranty on that Bugera...;)

  • It sounds really good with these Private Jack but I'd be curious to try Red Fang Alnico speakers. Iknow, it's more

    expensive.

  • @jp6l6 yeah, did not want to spend the cash on the Alnico speakers. These do the job quite nicely....

  • Going to try one ASAP!

  • L'ampli de mes reves !!!!! Love it ....

  • @stevecloud have you been able to compare Scumbacks?

  • @stevecloud If you watch ebay and search terms like "jensen speaker", "CTS Speaker", you'll eventually find a great deal on some nice vintage AlNiCo 12"s. I do it, and it works every time. I got a NOS pair of 1959 Jensen P-15-Rs for the opening bid of 19.99 plus $12 shipping, and built myself a WONDERFUL 2x15 out of solid pine. The whole thing cost me around 60 bucks for the speakers, wood, hardware, and finishing materials, took me a day to build, and it's the best cab I've ever played through.

  • If it had been a V30 and a G12T-75 or a T-75 with a greenback you would have liked it better. It's just the V30 is all mids while the greenbacks are kinda smooth with lower mid emphasis.....when you have two speakers in an amp or cab and you aren't compensating for a shortcoming in the amp, it's good to have to speakers that are drastically different, and get the balance. That's how i did my 412 for my 18 watt, a pair of 30s and a pair of T75s in an X formation. It was perfect, oh how I miss it!
