Playing a full tune on the little Jumbie Jam steel drum/pan from Panyard. They are $189 and that includes shipping and a free book through Christmas!! Amazing deal!!
Don't ask me how, but some how my steel drum sticks got sticky on the end and they won't wash off so I don't know what to do. Also my steel drum stand is weird, I took it apart one time and then put it back together and now it doesn't stay together. I'll just be carrying the stand and it will just fall apart ( it's really annoying)
@Ilvmys that is pretty stange. Sounds like someone with sticky hands was holding your mallets at some point or there was tape applied that was taken off. As far as the stand, make sure its really put together all the way. I think it is VERY hard to get the parts a part when I'm transporting it and I do a lot. Almost to the point where I don't want to take it apart the pieces fit so tightly.
@sonordrum It's put together, but it won't stay together. Is there anyway I can just buy a new stand and some stick? Because I don't see what I can do ( maybe I just got a really bad stand, mine use to be really hard to take apart too)
@Ilvmys I just got a price quote for a new stand for the Jumbie Jam. Shipping in included they are $50. Now they have a new metal stand (which I have not seen yet) but are black powder coated for $125. I'm sure they are sweet though and perhaps go higher. Mallets are $15 shipped for the wooden ones and Aluminum (in blue) are $17. Chrome mallets are $25. I think you can do much better just buying regular steel pan mallets thought. If you're interested in any of them, just let me know.
Are all of the pan parts in the book?
