Who said time *creates* energy? You seem to be stuck on an idea here that was never even remotely suggested.
Time *is* energy in a typically unusable form. This video was designed to illustrate the links between relative mass in motion and space-time while alluding to a method whereby time can be converted into usable energy.
You may want to strike *create energy* from your vocabulary. The laws of conservation clearly show that energy cannot be *created* or destroyed.

@nilrehob Correction: we have tree masses, the big mass on the wheel/pendulum, the unbalancing mass on the same, and the small mass to collide with. To make the math simpler consider the UNBALANCING mass hanging on a rope pulling the big mass on a frictionless wagon to collide with the small mass.

@SpatialMaster Change in momentum is called impulse. Impulse is F*t. So time does not create energy but momentum. When the two masses collide momentum is preserved but energy is lost. The bigger the difference in the masses the lesser the loss. As you go to infinity with the difference the wheel will not notice the collision and just continue as a pendulum. To make the math simpler consider the small mass hanging on a rope pulling the big mass on a frictionless wagon.

Thanks you for taking the time to work out some math on this and please feel free to post your equations and results here for all to share.
I think perhaps you have missed the point here, we are not trying to create energy, in fact you may wish to remove that phrase from your vocabulary - energy cannot be created nor destroyed. We are converting one form of energy into another (transforming). Please pay careful attention to the unchanging mass properties and surfaces.

@AdminOnDuty I first thought your video was fascinating, but after doing some rather simple calculations with simple std formulas for simple physics i concluded that, and i repeat, there is no energy created, just less energy lost in the (inelastic) collision as the mass difference between the wheel and the box increases. Do the math, use the formulas for potential energy, kinetic energy and momentum and you will see. Still, its its interesting in the viewpoint of minimize loss.

Excellent demonstration u have there. Time deffinatly is being converted into energy.
There is no energy created, just less energy lost in the (inelastic) collision as the mass difference between the wheel and the box increases.

@nilrehob
According the laws of conservation energy is never created, only converted. In this case we are alluding to the concept that time is a form of energy that could be exploited.
Cheers!

If you wouldn't mind answering a simple question......What program are you using? Thanks!

@frankensteinmoneymac
The simulator is PHUN now named Algadoo
The screen capture program is called CamStudio but it is the earlier open source freeware version 2.00 - you can get it from camstudio[dot]org.
The simulator is a 2D simulator - that is an important thing to keep in mind when trying to do mass analysis with these things. As always, simulated experiments need to be carried out physically to gain actual empirical results.
Cheers!
