A webcam is retrofitted with a pan & tilt mechanism using 2 servo motors and is controlled with an Arduino microcontroller. An Xport module is used to allow remote access and control via web pages. More info here:

  • Fusionicon: the latency in my application is maybe a quarter or half second.

  • This already uses 2 servos. Just take a look at the code at the link. I don't use a potentiometer for control, however.

  • I'm pretty sure you can buy pan-tilt-zoom webcams but they're probably very expensive.

  • I have a usb webcam can I use it with arduino to send the video to another arduino over xbees and display it on a monitor

  • What is lantecy like on the xport can twist the servos pretty fast with out having problems through the network?

    i know how to controll one servo with one potmeter, but i want to have 2 serveros (one of X and one for Y axis and have 1 potmeter each.
