Gary, you do provide some really helpful stuff but if I didn't know how to take a snapshot, I'd hate your video ahaha No offense.
What I do is alot more simpler.
I use Grab ( found in the Utilities folder * Applications-> Utilities *
And you have the option through that to take a selection, full screen, timed, and so forth.
Saves a ton of time and hassle of doing what you suggested through shortcuts and stuff.

i use this alot,
but i have to disagree with you..
700k is not that big... in fact, its pretty small for the quality you get !
besides, mailboxes today can handle at least 10 megs easily, and everyone has a connection that can send 700k easily
