I went with the drop D for a number of reasons, mostly that the amount of time to learn this song would require a separate guitar for the C tuning, not a cheap option. The other reason is that is how it was played originally. The weird challenge is that it requires one to play notes on the B string that are then followed by a lower note on the E string, messes with the brain. I put some time in with the metronome and have improved from this performance.
Very good effort - I know how tough this one is to play and sing at the same time. I've actually been playing it in CGDGBE tuning but that low C is such a drop you really need a thicker string or you get buzzing - so I'm going to give open D a shot - it actually sounds better.
