Pope Benedict XVI celebrated Vespers in Pragues Cathedral church of St Vitus Saturday evening with priests, deacons, men and women religious and seminarians, telling them that only the love of Christ can render apostolic activity effective. Although communism fell twenty years ago, the wounds caused by state atheism are still evident in addition to the hedonistic and consumerist mentality of today. The Holy Father called for further action that strengthens the apostolic spiritual and moral values, for charitable engagement and for Catholic schools to educate the young.
