You cannot strengthen the TVA or multifidus? Is that what you are saying regarding local muscle strengthening?

@915olivares11 Yes! also, check this more in-depth "complex" workout from Mr. Tumminello that will melt fat off your waist.. Another great, simple exercise that melts fat is SPRINTING. 6 minutes of sprinting for at least 8 second intervals is equivalent to 1 hour of moderate jogging.. My knees are a little sketchy, so I stick to complexes (besides hockey)..

hello, if i did this complex, would i be able to lose belly fat and body fat???

it really looks like he has tight hips during the overhead squat. his knees are coming forward over his toes and is not able to sit back with his chest up. either way, I like the circuit

hope quinn stays healthy next year but the ravens will still win the super bowl with out him
Where do you teach this course?
With all do respect, It sounds to me as if you have read way too much Paul Chek stuff.
FYI, Quinn was injured long before he came to me.
I really do appreciate your passion. But, thinking you can accurately diagnose an athletes dysfunction by watching a video is just about ridiculous.
Lastly, you CANNOT strengthen a local muscle. You can only change its timing. By you saying he has weakness in their inner unit shows me your misunderstanding of this subject.

Also, anyone who thinks healthy, pain free athletes should "draw in" while exercises is misguided and actually could cause a faulty pattern and create LESS stability. Dr.Stuart McGill clearly showed why this happens in both his books.
I can go on and on about this, I even have a five hour course on this topic. But, its silly to go any further on a site like Youtube.

Unreal. I just googled Quinn.
"The Baltimore Ravens already have their first major injury of the 2008 NFL season. Quinn Sypniewski, a backup tight end, was lost for the season after tearing a knee ligament (ACL) in minicamp. Sypniewski will need approximately nine months to fully heal."
He had a second ACL surgery as well. I wonder if this was filmed pre or post surgery because the potential is there to happen again. I hope it doesn't. Good luck.

Secondly, your comment about segmental stabilizers being "off" is incorrect and shows me your fundamental misunderstanding of the local stability muscles like the TvA and multifidus.
The originators of the TvA reseach, Hodges and Richardson, never said these muslces were ever "off".
They did show that the feedforward response to activate muscles like the TvA happened 40-50 milliseconds later than normal in folks with low back pain.
The only peoples who's TvA is off are dead or paralyzed.

Poor thoracic extension and watch his knees on the OH squat -- instability at the hip cause medial rotation of the knee and increased q angle. Lower extremity pronation. Hello ACL injury. His segmental stabilizers are OFF! Meaning he is unable to stabilize his body!
It amazes me how the top of this profession is a stone's throw away. Nick knows his shit, but I spotted this in about 5 seconds.

First off, I appreciate your positive words about my knowledge. I do agree that Quinn needs some work on his OH squat technique. That said, this film was shot while Quinn was rehabing his knee from injury. His knee flexion was limited so it changed his squat a bit.
That said, because this is a complex and the load is low and the ROM is not intended to be full the way Quinn performed it is just fine.
